Dr. sc. med. Katarina Kopčalić

Dr. sc. med. Katarina Kopčalić, MD, PhD, is a specialized radiation oncologist at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia (IORS) and a key Research Associate within the European Union's RadExIORSBoost Twinning Horizon Europe Project team. Dr. Kopčalić earned her medical degree and completed her specialization in radiation oncology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, where she also successfully defended her PhD thesis focusing on the predictive significance of clinical characteristics and molecular biomarkers in prostate cancer radiotherapy. Her research mainly revolves around reducing radiation toxicity, optimizing uro-oncological treatment protocols, and advancing clinical trial design. An award-winning clinical researcher, Dr. Kopčalić has advanced her expertise internationally, including training at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana and winning multiple awards for academic progress and presentation excellence at the Uro-Oncology OMI seminar in Salzburg, Austria.
