Prof. dr Ozsahin Esat Mahmut


Prof. Dr. Esat Mahmut Ozsahin is a distinguished Swiss-based radiation oncologist. He completed his medical degree and initial specialization in radiation oncology in Turkey, followed by a PhD in radiobiology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich). Before joining the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) in 1996, he expanded his clinical experience across academic medical institutions in Turkey, France, and Switzerland. Currently serving as a Professor of Radiation Oncology at CHUV and the University of Lausanne, Dr. Ozsahin also chairs the department's scientific committee. His clinical and research expertise spans across head and neck cancers, lung cancer, colorectal malignancies, hematological tumors, and rare cancers. He is globally recognized for his work in combined-modality treatments, modern high-precision radiotherapy techniques, and identifying genetic biomarkers linked to radiation injury. Prof. Ozsahin is a highly collaborative and widely published investigator that actively contributes to international clinical trials.
