Asst. Prof. Mladen Marinković
Mladen Marinković, MD, PhD, is a radiation oncologist at the Clinic for Radiation Oncology, Institute for Oncology and Radiology of Serbia, and a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. He graduated from the University of Belgrade in 2015, completed his residency in Radiation Oncology in 2021, and obtained his PhD in 2024 with a thesis focused on locally advanced rectal cancer treated with neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy. He recently completed subspecialty training in Oncology with a focus on prostate cancer.
His professional activities integrate clinical practice, medical education, and translational research. Clinically, he specializes in the management of gastrointestinal and genitourinary malignancies. As a teaching assistant, he is actively involved in the education of medical students and oncology residents and participates in national and international educational initiatives.
His research interests focus on personalized treatment strategies for rectal cancer, including predictive biomarkers, proteomics, artificial intelligence, and precision oncology. He is actively involved in several national and international research projects, including the Horizon Europe STEPUPIORS project, which aims to advance personalized treatment approaches for patients with locally advanced rectal cancer.
